Gail On Election Issues

Welcome

Dear Fellow Georgians,

Because I know how this office touches the lives of Georgia citizens each and every day, I decided to seek the Office of Secretary of State. I am also keenly aware that citizens throughout our state are not being served very well, and you deserve better.

A stepping stone is not what I was seeking. I just wanted to return public service to the State Capitol and to provide Georgians with the best customer service in the entire nation. My service in the House of Representatives began in 1991, and my involvement with this office began in 1995 with my appointment to the Professional Licensing Committee. The long list of Elections and Ethics legislation that I have authored is a window to see my passion for making sure that our elections are fraud-free and that our right to vote is protected. My recognition by the Friends of the Archives for protecting state documents, and the 11 other legislative organizations that include licensed healthcare professional is the icing on the cake!

The outcome of this Run-Off is not what we had hoped for, but I am proud that we ran a clean campaign that did not compromise my integrity or the true Georgia values of my supporters who hailed from every community throughout our great state.

Thank you to the many volunteers who gave so much of your time and talents. I'm sure we will continue to work together to ensure that our state government is better than just efficient. The steps that we take today will create the Georgia of tomorrow that our children and grandchildren will inherit. Let's get back to work!

Best regards,
