Gail Buckner has authored and passed various bills that have helped to protect Georgia citizens. As a House Appropriations member she chaired the Human Services Committee, served on the Economic Development Committee and reviewed billions of dollars in state spending. Gail chaired the House Oversight Committee for the second phase of the building of the State Archives. Friends of the Archives presented her with their Legislator of the Year Award. The Georgia Congress of Democratic Women presented Gail with the Maxine Goldstein Award and the Cobb Democratic Women presented her with their Woman in the House Award.
