Gail Buckner launches web site for home builders

Secretary of State candidate helped pass Georgia licensure requirement

MACON - Secretary of State Candidate Gail Buckner has launched a website to help inform Georgia home builders that a state license is mandatory in January 2007.

The website is www.georgiabuildersneedalicense.com.  Rep. Buckner, a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, helped pass legislation to require the licensing of home builders.  She is now being proactive is helping education all Georgia citizens about this issue.

“I am glad Rep. Buckner has put up a website to help inform builders and citizens.  As a builder, I have found the website to be very helpful and find Buckner’s hands-on approach to working with citizens refreshing,” said Fayetteville builder Allan DePoe.

Buckner has been discussing all licensing board services with citizens as she has traveled the state. She has been emphatic that the Licensing Board Division should remain in Macon.

“Moving the licensing board services to Macon will certainly be part of Cathy Cox’s legacy in making the Office of Secretary of State more progressive,” said Buckner.

“I will continue to support the Macon and Tifton Offices.  I will also find other ways to take our services closer to our citizens through partnerships with existing professionals and agencies,” said Buckner.

Buckner is seeking the office of Secretary of State because she has worked in areas relative to this division of government including professional and occupational licensing, small business, economic development and elections.  Buckner is finishing 16 years as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives and received almost 91% of the vote in her last election.

As the most experienced public servant in the race for Georgia Secretary of State, Gail Buckner will stay on the job until it gets done. For more information, visit her official web site at www.gailbuckner.com.
